Snow Delay:
If bad weather causes a two-hour delay for EKU, our schedule will be:

  • Lab      10:00 am - 10:50 am
  • Lecture 11:10 am - 12:10 pm

Grading Procedures

Homework (50 points)

  • Homework will be assigned during lecture, completed outside of class and collected in lab.
  • A total of five homework grades will be taken. NONE will be dropped.
  • Late homework will not be accepted.
  • Each homework grade will be worth 10 points.
  • Homework will be graded mostly for completeness.

Quizzes (100 points)

  • Each quiz will be worth 10 points.
  • A total of eight quizzes will be taken and the lowest one will be dropped.
  • Quiz questions are taken from the assigned homework.
  • No makeup quizzes will be given.

Tests (500 points)

  • A total of six tests will be given.
    Test 1 = 100 points Test 4 = 50 points
    Test 2 = 100 points Test 5 = 50 points
    Test 3 = 100 points Test 6 = 100 points
  • Extended time will not be allowed on tests unless you are registered with the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities. Arrangements must be made at least one week prior to the first test.
  • If you miss a test and provide your lecture leader with a valid, documented excuse then you may take the general makeup exam. The general makeup exam is given during the last lab of the semester and covers the entire course.

Final Exam (200 points)

  • Departmental Final Exam will be given on Monday, December 10, 2007 from 3:30 - 5:30.
  • It will cover the entire course.
  • The final exam cannot be taken early.

Recitation (50 points)

  • Grading for recitation will be as follows:

    10 points: Student attends entire recitation and completes majority of assignment.
      5 points: Student attends entire recitation and partially completes assignment OR student is late or leaves early.
      0 points: Student does not attend recitation OR does little or no work OR is disruptive.
  • The lowest recitation score will be dropped.
  • There is no way to make up a recitation.

Attendance Problems

  • Given in lecture and worked on a sheet of paper.
  • 2 points for a correct solution, 1 point for incorrect solution, 0 points for not attending
  • Total points will be converted to a score out of 10 for a quiz grade that cannot be dropped.
  • No attendance problems are dropped.
