Administrative Offices: The Administrative Assistant of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics is Kristin Muncie, Wallace 312, 622-5942, kristin.muncie@eku.edu. The Senior Office Associate is Cindy Greenwell, Wallace 314, 622-1921, cindy.greenwell@eku.edu. If you have administrative questions, check with Kristin or Cindy first.

Mailboxes: Faculty mailboxes are located in Wallace 313. Check with Kristin Muncie in Wallace 312 regarding the location of your mailbox. Mailboxes for lab assistants and graders are located in Wallace 342A.

Email: Be sure to activate your EKU email account since faculty, staff and students will communicate with you through this address. You will also receive campus news and events announcements through your EKU email account. Check with the Information Technology and Delivery Services at 622-3000 to activate your account.

Copies: The department copy room, Wallace 317, is open 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. You may contact Cindy Greenwell in Wallace 314 to set up a copier account. See Kristin Muncie in Wallace 312 if you need to request a key to the copy room. Departmental staff members will copy developmental exams for you.

Campus News and Events: You will receive EKU Today and other campus updates through your EKU email account. The Eastern Progress is published weekly and is available in print form at locations around campus. It is also available on the first floor of Wallace on the day it is distributed. EKU also offers a series of lectures each year, the Chautauqua series, on a common theme. You can find information about these at www.eku.edu and will receive announcements about these through EKU Today. It is important that developmental instructors especially encourage students to attend these public events.

Extended Campus Directors: If you are assigned to teach a course at an extended campus site, please check with the administrative staff there to learn about that site's communication procedures: mailbox, copier access, policies, etc.

Tutoring Center: The Mathematics and Statistics Tutoring Center is located in Wallace 342. The center provides tutoring for MAT 090, 095, 098, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 124, 201, 202, 211, and 261 and STA 215 and 270. More information can be found at http://www.mathtutor.eku.edu/. If you have any questions regarding tutoring, contact the Coordinator of the Mathematics and Statistics Tutoring Center, Mary Ann Ghosal, Wallace 304, 622-2100, maryann.ghosal@eku.edu.

Student Evaluation of Instruction: All courses offered through the Department of Mathematics and Statistics are evaluated online using IDEA (standardized) student evaluations. Cindy Greenwell, Senior Office Associate in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, will notify instructors when these are available and due each semester. You may contact her for information regarding IDEA.

Technology Resources

Blackboard: Blackboard is the software EKU provides for connecting Web materials with any class or University activity. To learn about training sessions in using Blackboard, or for general information on using Blackboard, instructors should call 622-3000. Information is also available at http://www.eku.edu/onlinelearning/.

EKU Direct: You can log in to EKU Direct at http://www.eku.edu/online/help.php using your Social Security number or EKU ID number and a password. Here you can view your schedule, view class rosters, enter grades, request a parking hanger, etc.

Computer Labs: There are several computer labs available on the fourth floor of the Wallace Building: Wallace 444, 445, 449, and 452. The following mathematical and statistical packages are available on the computers in these labs: Derive, DPGraph, Geometer's Sketchpad, Logo, Mathematica, Minitab, NonEuclid, Sampling Sim, SAS, SPSS (may not be in all labs), StatXact, TI Connect, and Ubasic. You can find the schedule for each lab posted on the door of the lab. If you want to reserve a lab, check the schedule to see when it is available, and post a sign on the door saying that the lab is reserved for the specified date and time. If you have any questions regarding the labs or software, contact the Computer Lab Manager, Tom Kay, Wallace 405, 622-1924, tom.kay@eku.edu.

Calculators: The department has some Texas Instruments graphing calculators and projection screens available. If you are interested in using any of these, contact the Course Coordinator, Dr. Margaret Yoder, Wallace 306, 622-1618, margaret.yoder@eku.edu.

Technology available in classrooms: All departmental classrooms are now equipped with LCD projectors and notebook docking stations. The mass lecture halls in Wallace 147 and 149 each have an ELMO, LCD projector, an overhead projector, and a sound system equipped with a wired microphone. If you want to use a wireless microphone, see Cindy Greenwell in Wallace 314. The department also has ELMOs on carts available. If you are interested in checking out one of these, contact Tom Kay at tom.kay@eku.edu.
